Little Kids Rock Students to Play at Tree Lighting Ceremony, Meet Governor in Music City

Students from Nashville will ring in the holiday season at the Tennessee State Capitol

NASHVILLE, Tenn., Nov. 30, 2009 — Little Kids Rock, a leading nonprofit provider of free musical instruments and instruction to underfunded public schools in the U.S., today announced that Little Kids Rock students from the Nashville area will play a concert at the annual tree lighting ceremony outside the Tennessee State Capitol building on Monday, November 30 at 4:30 pm. Following the ceremony, the students will have the opportunity to meet and take pictures with Governor Phil Bredesen.

The concert, to be performed by an ensemble of 16 students, will feature several holiday classics performed on Fender® guitars and drums, all donated by Little Kids Rock.

In the following weeks, the Mount View Elementary students will perform a series of concerts across Nashville. The schedule is as follows:

Dec. 8 :    Tennessee State Capitol................... 9:15 am – 9:40 am
               Country Music Hall of Fame............ 10:30 am – 10:55 am
              Frist Center for the Visual Arts........ 12:30 pm – 12:55 pm

Dec. 11 :  Nashville International Airport....... 10:00 am – 10:30 am
                Vanderbilt Stallworth Rehab Hospital..... TBD - TBD
